Butternut Squash – Waltham (live plant)

Days to Maturity (from transplanting) - 91 days

Classic larger butternut.  Fruits are about 9” long with small seed cavities.  Exceptional flavor becoming sweeter the longer it’s stored.  Stores for about 2 months at 50-55 degrees with good ventilation. 

Space plants 18-24” apart in rows 6’ apart.  Harvest when fruits reach nutty brown color without any green streaks and stems have dried out, becoming woody like.  Leave fruits in sun for 5-7 days allowing skin to cure before storing.
